New Mask Policy as of June 11 , 2022

Dear Clients,

Effective June 11, the Ministry of Health has removed most masking requirements and revoked the directives for healthcare providers. In the interest of providing patient-centred care, I will continue to implement the following protocols:

While no longer mandatory, I will continue to wear a mask and highly urge all of my clients to continue to wear them due to the close contact nature of massage therapy treatments.

Masks will only be required under the following circumstances:

- if you have travelled outside of Canada or been on a plane in the last 14 days, or are living with anyone who is currently unwell/exhibiting any symptoms of illness.

According to the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario,

  • RMTs cannot provide treatment to anyone with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 until those symptoms have subsided or to anyone who is supposed to be self-isolating at the time of their scheduled appointment.

COVID Prescreening Forms will continue to be in place as per the guidelines provided by the MoH to ensure the safety of the therapist and other clients.

Out of courtesy to the therapist, anyone who currently has any symptoms of respiratory, flu, cold or gastrointestinal illness will be asked not to arrive for their appointment and to reschedule once their symptoms have subsided.

Cleaning and Disinfection

I will continue to abide by strict sanitization and disinfection protocols in my clinic and treatment area, including frequent hand washing,  use of hand sanitizer, frequent ventilation and use of an air purifier.

You can find out more about the CMTO's policies around COVID-19 here.

You can read more about how I'm keeping you safe on my COVID-19 page.

Colette Slone, RMT

Colette is a graduate of Sutherland-Chan School in Toronto and a member in good standing of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. She has been in practise since January 2016.

Colette focuses on relieving pain and discomfort by taking the time to assess your needs, goals and specific concerns. Her clinical focus is head/neck and jaw pain, with a special interest in the use of neuro-physiological techniques and a patient-driven approach to treatment. She believes in utilizing a range of modalities including:

  • Manual Lymphatic Drainage
  • Deep Tissue Massage
  • Myo-fascial release techniques
  • Remedial Exercise prescription
Her additional training includes the Dr. Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage method, myo-fascial release for neck, voice and swallowing disorders, TMJ dysfunctions, pre- and post-natal treatment and pelvic health issues.

The foundation of her practise is based on three pillars: Patient Values; Communication; and Available Evidence. Your beliefs, history, view points and needs are all extremely important. Colette believes in taking the time to learn about you and invites you to provide her with as much information as you feel comfortable to give you the best possible massage treatment that's right for you.

Communication, both verbal and non-verbal, are an essential component of health care and informed consent. In order to meet your needs and comfort level during treatment, Colette will ensure that communication pathways are clear and open. Should you have any specific concerns or communication preferences, those will be reviewed prior to treatment.

You can expect Colette to provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding best practises and evidence in massage therapy. She does her best to stay informed via research literature, continuing education and peer-led discussion.  In addition to keeping updated on manual therapy research, Colette incorporates a trauma-informed lens into her practise, and highly values in an inter-disciplinary approach to health-care.

Colette provides treatment from her clinic at 2405 Lake Shore Blvd W Suite 405. Colette's clinic is a warm, welcoming and safe space. During your treatments, you are invited to select your music preference (or silence), and every effort is made to ensure you feel safe, secure and comfortable during your visit. Your well-being and comfort are her top priorities.
